Official Formula 1 racing simulator bar and restaurant — 60 full-motion simulators, craft cocktails and views of St Paul's Cathedral
Sixty full-motion racing simulators line the floor of this 17,000-square-foot venue at One New Change, each one calibrated to replicate the g-forces and steering resistance of a real Formula 1 car. Created by Adam Breeden, the entrepreneur behind Flight Club and Puttshack, it is the world's first officially licensed F1 entertainment venue.
Drivers of all abilities choose from five difficulty levels — Rookie through to Elite — then race head-to-head or in teams across faithfully recreated Grand Prix circuits. Between races, a 40-foot cocktail bar serves F1-themed drinks alongside sharing plates, flatbreads and burgers, all with sweeping views of St Paul's Cathedral.
F1 Arcade opened at One New Change in November 2022 as the world's first officially licensed Formula 1 entertainment venue. The brainchild of Adam Breeden — the entrepreneur who brought competitive socialising to London with Flight Club, Puttshack and Bounce — the concept was developed in partnership with Formula 1 and Liberty Media. It occupies nearly 17,000 square feet across two floors of the Jean Nouvel-designed shopping centre, directly opposite St Paul's Cathedral.
The design draws heavily on the paddock aesthetic of modern Formula 1, with sleek carbon-fibre finishes, LED lighting that shifts colour throughout the evening, and giant screens broadcasting live race telemetry. The venue raised $130 million to fund global expansion, with sites in Birmingham and Boston following the London flagship.
The racing experience is built around 60 full-motion simulators that tilt, pitch and vibrate to replicate the forces of real Formula 1 driving. You can race head-to-head against up to two opponents or join a team of four or more for group competitions across official Grand Prix circuits. Five skill levels, from Rookie to Elite, ensure the experience works whether you have never held a steering wheel or you spend weekends on iRacing.
A standard session includes either three races in around 30 minutes or five races in 45 minutes. Between stints, the 40-foot Octane Bar serves signature cocktails such as the Box Box Box alongside craft beers, champagne and an extensive food menu of sharing plates, flatbreads, tacos and burgers. During the F1 season, Grand Prix Watch Parties transform the venue into a giant screening room with live telemetry feeds.
Booking in advance through the F1 Arcade website is strongly recommended, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings and during live Grand Prix weekends. Walk-ins are accepted but simulator availability cannot be guaranteed. Children aged seven and over can race, though under-18s must leave by 6pm. Private event spaces including the Briefing Room accommodate up to 90 guests with dedicated simulators and cathedral views.
One New Change itself has several restaurants and shops if you want to extend the visit. St Paul's Cathedral is a two-minute walk, the Museum of London is nearby, and the Millennium Bridge leading to Tate Modern is five minutes on foot. The venue sits at the heart of the City, making it easy to combine with a walk along the Thames or a visit to the Barbican.
Walk-ins welcome but advance booking is strongly recommended, especially on weekends and during Grand Prix weekends
Weekday lunchtime sessions are cheaper and quieter than evenings or weekends. You will get more track time with shorter waits between races.
The food menu is better than you might expect from a gaming venue. Flatbreads and tacos are popular choices. Order at your simulator station between races.
Team racing adds a competitive edge that head-to-head lacks. Lap times are combined across the group, so strategy matters as much as speed.
During the F1 season, live race screenings include unlimited food and drink on Grandstand tickets. Book early as these events sell out weeks in advance.
Children aged seven and over can race but must leave by 6pm daily. Weekend mornings are ideal for families, with the venue opening at 10am on Saturdays and Sundays.
