Award-winning family farm park in Buckinghamshire — rare breeds, adventure play and seasonal events since 1993
Odds Farm Park opened in 1993 when Steve and Jackie Vinden transformed a working Buckinghamshire farm into a family attraction built around rare breed conservation. Set on rolling countryside near Wooburn Common, just minutes from junction 2 of the M40, the park is home to over 16 rare and native breeds of farm animals and equines including Middle White pigs, Bagot goats and Exmoor ponies.
Daily activities run throughout the year, from hand-feeding sheep and goats in the undercover animal barn to cow milking demonstrations, egg collecting and pig snack time. Beyond the animals, families can explore acres of outdoor adventure play, race around on go-karts and pedal tractors, splash through the H2Odds water play zone in summer and tackle the 18-hole Marmalade's Mini Golf course. The giant indoor Adventure Play Barn — with its four-lane Astra Slide, drop slides, tunnels and ball pit — keeps children entertained whatever the weather.
Odds Farm Park was born in 1993 when Steve and Jackie Vinden opened the gates of their Buckinghamshire farm to visiting families. What started as a small rare breeds collection has grown into one of the leading farm parks in the south of England, welcoming generations of families over more than three decades. The Vinden family remain actively involved in the day-to-day running of the park, and their commitment to rare breed conservation sits at the heart of everything the farm does.
Key milestones include the introduction of rare breeds in 1995, the launch of educational school visit programmes in 2000, the opening of the indoor Adventure Play Barn in 2011, expansion of the outdoor adventure play area in 2015, the addition of the H2Odds water play zone in 2018, and the debut of Marmalade's Mini Rovers driving experience in 2020. The farm celebrated its 30th anniversary in May 2023 with a half-term party.
The undercover animal barn forms the centrepiece of any visit. Sheep, goats, cows, pigs and rare breeds live in spacious pens at child-friendly height, with a full programme of daily activities running year round. Visitors can hand-feed sheep and goats, stroke rabbits, watch cow milking demonstrations, meet guinea pigs and help collect eggs from the farm's chickens. Seasonal highlights include Lamb Watch in spring, when families can see newborn lambs up close.
Beyond the animals, acres of outdoor play await. The log-built adventure playground, go-karts, pedal tractors, ride-on toys and adventure maze keep older children busy, while the sand play area and under-fives log play suit younger visitors. The H2Odds water play zone opens from spring to autumn, and tractor and trailer rides run from April to October, looping through the surrounding fields with views across the Chilterns. Indoors, the giant Adventure Play Barn houses a four-lane Astra Slide, two large drop slides, tunnels, swinging ropes and a netted climbing area, with separate sections for toddlers and under-fives. Marmalade's Mini Golf offers 18 holes of farm-themed adventure for a small extra charge.
Odds Farm Park runs a packed calendar of seasonal events. Lamb Watch in spring draws visitors eager to meet newborn lambs, while Easter brings themed trails and activities. Summer holidays offer extended programming and the water play zone in full swing. The Pumpkin Festival in autumn is a firm favourite, and the Christmas Spectacular rounds off the year with festive entertainment. Adult Farm Nights and comedy evenings provide something for grown-ups too.
The park is open every day from 10am to 5.30pm. Arriving early on weekday mornings during term time gives the quietest experience and the best access to daily activities. Paths are a mix of tarmac and farm tracks, so sturdy shoes or wellies are recommended after rain. Picnics are welcome and can be eaten in designated outdoor areas. Marmalade's Tea Room, a coffee bar and an ice cream parlour provide hot meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day. The site is smoke and vape free, and dogs are not permitted except assistance dogs.
Weekday term-time tickets from £15.95. Online booking recommended for availability, with savings of up to £2 off gate prices. One free carer admitted with each disabled guest
Advance tickets save up to £2 per person compared with gate prices. Book at least one day ahead via the official website for guaranteed availability.
Daily activities like sheep feeding and cow milking run to a timetable. Arriving at 10am gives you the best chance of catching everything in order.
The farm sits on countryside and paths mix tarmac with earth tracks. After rain the animal areas and outdoor play zones get muddy, so bring boots.
The H2Odds water play zone opens from spring to autumn. Bring swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes for children who want to splash around.
Marmalade's Mini Golf costs a small extra fee but the 18-hole course is well worth it. Budget an extra 30–45 minutes on top of your main farm visit.
