London's futuristic immersive bingo experience — stadium-grade lights, robotic hosts and six rounds of multi-sensory gameplay in Shoreditch
Hijingo replaced the traditional bingo caller with a booming AI voice called Ava, a troupe of robot dancers and a 185-seat room rigged with floor-to-ceiling LED screens and stadium-grade lighting designed by the same teams behind Beyonce and Lady Gaga stage shows. Opened in 2019 on the corner of Worship Street and Curtain Road in Shoreditch, it bills itself as the world's first multi-sensory bingo experience.
Each 90-minute session delivers six rounds of bingo with escalating prizes including holidays and cash jackpots. Players enter through the Lucky Cat Bar, a Tokyo-inspired cocktail lounge, before taking their seats in the main room where surround sound, motion graphics and strobe effects transform every number call into a theatrical event.
Hijingo opened in 2019 on the corner of Worship Street and Curtain Road in Shoreditch, the brainchild of two entrepreneurs with form in experiential entertainment. James Gordon founded the Underground Rebel Bingo Club, a guerrilla bingo night that ran in warehouses and car parks across London. Adam Breeden created Bounce, the ping pong bar chain, and Puttshack, the tech-driven mini golf concept. Together they set out to build what they called the world's first multi-sensory bingo experience.
The venue occupies a purpose-built space with a 185-seat main room, two bars, a dancefloor and a kitchen serving Asian-inspired street food. The production values owe more to a concert than a bingo hall — the creative team behind the show includes designers who have built stage shows for Beyonce, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga and Skepta. Every surface in the main room is rigged with LED screens, and the lighting rig would not look out of place at a festival.
Sessions last 90 minutes and run across six rounds of bingo with escalating prizes. Before entering the main room, guests pass through the Lucky Cat Bar, a neon-lit Tokyo-inspired cocktail lounge where house mixologists serve signature drinks. Once seated, the lights drop and Ava — the AI voice of God — takes over, calling numbers through surround sound while motion graphics flood the screens.
Between rounds, costumed Hijingobot dancers patrol the aisles, delivering prizes and keeping energy levels high. Prizes range from bottles of champagne in early rounds to holidays and cash jackpots in the final game. The venue runs bottomless brunch sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, combining food and free-flowing prosecco or beer with the full bingo experience. Thursday to Saturday evenings feature post-bingo music and dancing, turning the venue into a late-night destination.
Tickets start from £16 per person for a standard six-round game, with bottomless brunch packages running from £35 to £49. Walk-ins are possible but not guaranteed — booking online is strongly recommended, especially for weekend sessions. The venue caters for private hire and corporate events, accommodating up to 300 guests with bespoke packages.
Shoreditch offers plenty before and after Hijingo. Boxpark Shoreditch is a two-minute walk north on Bethnal Green Road, offering street food from dozens of independent vendors. Spitalfields Market is ten minutes south, open daily with food, fashion and vintage stalls. For drinks afterwards, the concentration of bars along Curtain Road and Great Eastern Street means options are never far away.
Prices vary by day and session — book online for best availability as walk-ins are not guaranteed

Saturday and Sunday brunch sessions include food and free-flowing prosecco or beer alongside the full bingo experience. Better value than buying drinks separately.
Thursday evening sessions tend to be less crowded than Friday or Saturday but still run the full production with late-night music and dancing afterwards.
Party and corporate packages start from £29 per person and include drinks. Groups of eight or more should check the packages page for better per-head rates.
