The London Eye

Iconic 135-metre observation wheel offering breathtaking views across London's skyline in climate-controlled capsules.

The London Eye

About

London's millennium gift to itself rises 443 feet above the Thames, where 32 glass capsules (one per borough) carry 3.5 million annual riders on 30-minute sky journeys. This engineering marvel was meant to last five years—that was 25 years ago, proving some temporary attractions become permanent icons.

The Flight Experience

Board without stopping—the wheel rotates continuously at walking pace. Each 10-tonne capsule holds 25 people with 360-degree views through curved glass. Interactive screens identify landmarks from Windsor Castle (25 miles west) to Thames Estuary (east), while the gradual ascent reveals London's layout like an unfolding map.

Morning mists create ethereal cityscapes, sunset golden hours draw photographers, while night flights showcase London's glittering personality. Big Ben looks toylike below; the Thames reveals its city-shaping curves.

More Than Views

LED displays mark occasions from Pride rainbows to Remembrance poppies. Champagne experiences, chocolate tastings, and even weddings happen 443 feet up. Educational programs teach geography from the sky.

Fast-track tickets cut queues; combo deals include river cruises. The 4D cinema pre-flight experience adds wind, bubbles, and mist. Book sunset slots months ahead for romance; blue-hour photography happens 30 minutes after sunset.
